Rough Night

Last night was such a rough night that it was comparable to being in labor all through the night with my babies.

I was feeling nauseous in the afternoon, I went to bed early, then I got up an hour later puking and pooping water. Very disgusting. Sorry to gross anyone out. Fortunately, there was no more puking after that, just running to the bathroom every 20 minutes or so all through the night. I just made a place for myself on the couch in the living room so I could get up to go to the bathroom and try not to disturb anyone. That was still difficult.

Baby woke around 2 and I tried to nurse her, but nothing seemed to come out. I think I was too dehydrated. I couldn't hold her and gentle her back to sleep because I had to keep running to the bathroom. Husband was suffering from lack of sleep too from having a really nasty cough and was not happy about the whole scenario. He's on discipline at work so he had no choice about going to work today. She had a hard time getting back to sleep, and woke again an hour later. I tried to nurse her again, but no good. I finally gave her some formula and she was able to relax and go to sleep. It just goes to show that she still really does depend on those night nursings for nourishment. But it won't be long now. She's almost 11 months old.

I don't have any vacation time left but I had no choice but to stay home from work today. I've not been disciplined ever for anything at work, and I've been there nearly 8 years. I'm a little worried about it but not too much. My boss might cut me a deal under the table and let me use January's vacation time.

At best, I dozed on and off for maybe a total of an hour last night. My shoulders are sore from the tension all night long. I'm exhausted.

What a feeling to be in a quiet house though! Such a rare thing. The TV was on all weekend long, numbing my brain. My three year old had the same crud during the day yesterday, though not quite as intense as I had all night. She just begged to watch TV all day. I've tried to fight that battle with my husband, the couch potato, but it just creates too much nagging and tension in the house. I may have to re-visit the issue though. I don't like having a numb mind, and I certainly don't want our kids to. It's going to be a long winter living with these TV addicts.
