The Phoenix Party

I had a housewarming party last Friday and it was lovely! I am still basking in the pleasurable memories this gathering of beautiful people has brought me.

I served only non-alcoholic beverages. I haven't had a party in many years and never one that didn't include alcohol. So I was worried how the event would turn out. This was an endeavor out of my comfort zone.

I have to say I am SO GLAD I was true to my values about alcohol for this party. I wanted to visit with my friends without a hazy cloud around us. I wanted all my friends to be safe and comfortable. I did not want to provide any opportunity for anyone to make a fool out of themselves or drive after drinking. I much preferred to give them the opportunity to experience something clear and true. Perhaps even challenge some of them to aspire to higher values.

It was really beautiful and I think the party was a success. I felt beautiful too! It was just so awesome to have a nice intimate group of people around me that I really like and who like me.

The Phoenix party was just the thing to celebrate my journey of the past year - to celebrate what I have accomplished, appreciate where I am now, and feel optimistic about where I am going!
